Just Like Dad

I have always teased Jamie about his amazing ability to fall asleep anywhere or at any time, which was most amazing on rickety country buses in China. His sister affectionally refers to this skill as 'narcolepsy.' Well, not only does Soren LOOK just like Jamie, he too has Jamie's sleep talent, as evidenced by the above photos.

Soren LOVES to arch his back and lie with his head thrown back even while eating and now, sleeping.

Head, Shoulder, Knees, and Toes: Thai Style!

I taught Chon the 'head, shoulders, knees, and toes' diddy and she liked it so much she asked me to write down the lyrics. All morning long she has been singing her version to Asher and Soren and it is so stinking cute that it absolutely cracks me up.

Davis Family Get Together

Me, Lori, and topless Ella.

Ella and her xylophone.

Baby Rhett (he'll always be baby Rhett to me...) and Jamie.

Jamie with Ella in the AZ.

Jamie, Joe, Lori, and Ella.

This weekend we are taking Asher and Soren on their first road trip. Destination? Maryville, TN for cousin Lucy's baby blessing. I am so freaking excited to hit the road and see family. Many of Jamie's family members have not yet met our baby babes so that is going to be exciting. Also, I love me a road trip and to have my mom along for the ride is going to be extra fun.

Bring on the refills and the DVDs!

My Sister the Hot Mama!

Amberlyn with Grace--they are both quite beautiful.

Amberlyn with lil Annika.

Amberlyn with Becks.

Amberlyn with Hannah.

I had to throw in this one...Amberlyn with me in DC. Do we even look like sisters? Do you see how I am an albino next to her?

How cute is Jaren in this outfit from me?

My sister is a great mom and so dedicated to her role as a parent. It's hard work nurturing the lives of so many little people but she does a great job and she has always been a good example to me. How cute is she with her kids?

Tummy Time Adventures

Soren was amusing me with his tummy time skills--he would kick his feet and poke his buns in the air, what a cutie!!!

Fancy Feet

Slippers are funny on baby feet.

Nursery Updates

New Stars from Ashley!!!

Jamie and I finally put up the Flendsted swallow mobile and I finally finished my little art project. I am so happy with both! I am not sure where to hang my little bursts of color so hopefully when my mom arrives she can help me find the perfect spot. Yay for color, especially greens and blues. Above all, yay for Asher and Soren!!!

I OWN You Stuffed Animal!!!

Do you think this is a game? I own you!

Soren and Asher are quite fierce when it comes to gnawing on their stuffed animals.

Baby on My Knees

I love to rest Asher and Soren on my legs and knees then float them in the air like little hang gliders. They love it and I love it too for the huge squeals and smiles our play time always yield. Apparently sucking on my knees is the funnest thing in the world!

Rashrey Visits!

Yay! Bffs! How fun that we were pregnant at the same time and will have children only six months apart. They'll be in the same grade!

So cute. I can't wait to meet you little Eli!

Soren wanted to look at everyone and everything at once. Ashley did a super job keeping the bottle in his mouth. She's going to be the stinking cutest mom ever.

Brian is supportive in the background.

My BFF Ashley and all of her family, minus nieces, nephews, and one brother-in-law, met in New York City for an epic and epicurean reunion. What a blast they had eating, walking, and just being together. Ashley, Brian, and her parents rented a car for a road trip to Florida so I was lucky enough to be a stop along their route.

Seeing Ashley was wonderful, especially since she is the stinking cutest pregnant woman EVER. I just don't know how some women manage pregnancy without massive swelling and overall fugs.

Ashley had the joy of feeding Soren while I fed Asher. Soren is easily distracted and likes to contort his body in a myriad of positions while eating, non of which are conducive to eating. Pretty much he is absolutely adorable.

I wish our visit could have been more than just a few late night hours but even those were a luxury.

Toy Attack!

Mmmmm, toys.

Could they be any cuter as they concentrate on holding and then devouring their toys?

My baby babes are becoming so sophisticated! They love to chew on toys and the talent it takes to grab a toy, hold on to it, then shove it in the mouth is not to be understated. My boys have skills!

New Do

I got my haircut yesterday. Apparently it is impossible to get just what I want. I told Mark at Bang salon that I am growing my hair out and I don't want anything too complicated. Apparently layers and wispy front pieces are considered uncomplicated and good for growing long hair. I was quite disappointed yesterday but today's wash and go wasn't too wretched.

Valentines Day

From my sweet, sweet Valentine: Flowers and two amazing, beautiful babies. Thank you Jamie.

Jamie and I like to cook dinner together as a way to celebrate Valentine's Day. I love this tradition because we don't cook together often enough so being in the kitchen making a special meal is an activity I truly love. This year was easily the most magnificent feast to date. We made spinach and olive empanadas with salad, lemon cake, and parfait. The empanadas were seriously the BEST I have EVER eaten.

This year was a little less about US because we had the joy of sharing kitchen time with Asher and Soren. Also, Chon joined us for dinner.

Jamie surprised me with flowers! He's such a sweet Valentine. Every day he thanks me for taking such great care of the babies and he is always reminding Soren and Asher that they have a beautiful mother. I am probably not grateful enough for all of the affection I get from Jamie but I also can't imagine a life without so much love.
